I'm used to living in close spaces with a lot of people that I already know. So I'm not a fan of cramming a bunch of strangers into a house and hoping that things work out.

And then there was that time that my whole arm scabbed over when I first got here...

It gets worst when a lot of them are narcissists like in Baldr or death obsessed like Hel. It's like asking for trouble. [She snorted.] Yeah, I remember that... sorry for not helping there at all. My powers were too haywire.

I know, right? I'm not perfect, but I'd like to think I'm better then all the weirdos they've got living over there.

[Asuka laughed. She really did think she was better then most of those people back in Beldr house.]

It's ok, you did your best. If I remember right I was a jerk to the first time we met to.

[She laughed at that, definitely finding it amusing.] You were about on par with my first day here. I threatened to kill most of the city at some point in the conversation. Of course, I also thought my dad had dragged me here, so it wasn't that surprising.

I don't think I threatened to kill anyone. I was more worried about being stuck all along in a strange place without my Eva or anything that I actually cared about.

[She did threaten to kill someone once here. But that was another story entirely.]

Since we're going to be living together, are there any rules I should know about?

[samantha_grey]

[Hmmm, rules... it wasn't like she'd ever actually lived with anyone other than when she was younger. Sam scratched at her head, considering that for a second.]

Always lock up when you leave, and when you're in. If you want to use the locks that don't unlock except from the inside, I'll knock three times then once. ...yeah, I'm pretty paranoid, I know. [There were a total of seven, after all, and the door and frame were reinforced.]

I've got a spare room I've been using like a library for notes. I think the big question is if you want to have your own room or ... well, you know, just stay in mine.

[They could cross the costs door in a minute.]

I understand. Back home I was on perpetual high alert. NERV could attack at any time, so I had to be ready to get up and get in my Eva at a moments notice.

[She sort of enjoyed not being perpetually woken up by attacking robots. But, at the same time, she missed being able to work out her frustrations on the battlefield as well.]

I wouldn't mind rooming together... I'm used to that sort of things from back home anyway. So why not?

[At least she understood. There were a lot of people who wouldn't understand that paranoia. The latter, though, made her laugh.] You know I only have one bed in my room, don't you? You're telling me you shared the covers back home?

[She gave her a slightly impish little smirk.]

Shared room it is anyway. As far as costs, we're getting our food from the supplies, so it's mostly just the spices and we can share those. Remind me, where are you working right now?

[It was, in truth, a non-issue since the school closed down but she didn't want Asuka to feel like she was mooching if the red-head wanted to pay her share.]

Grrr...of course not! There's no one on that ship I'd ever want to share a bed with.

[Asuka sighed. She really needed to stop walking directly into these situations.]

I've been working with the military lately. That's about it.

[samantha_grey]

Knowing them, they probably do that on a volunteer basis. I still get a stipend from the shrines every month, so the rent's covered. You can think of it as your barracks, if you want. I'm not that fussed either way.

[Perks of running one of the only successful, ongoing drug stores in town.]

Figures that they wouldn't pay us. They want us to fight a war but don't want compensate us in anyway besides maybe going home if we don't all die.

[Asuka kicked at the ground as they went a long. This whole world was rather frustrating to her.]

I can still want to help. I can't cook or anything like that, but I can at least clean up once in awhile.

Yeah, that's pretty much how they are. The compensation is the free room and board in the house with the crazies. I'll do the cooking and you do the cleaning, and we can set up a board if there's any types of chores we really don't want to do?

...oh... and if you're getting a pet, no snakes. That's not negotiable.

That's fine by me. I just don't want to be a freeloader like I was when I was a kid.

[She blinked several times. What was that about?]

I don't plan on it. But what brought that up?

You're not a freeloader, Asuka. You're my girlfriend. But I understand not wanting that. You helping with the military, though, goes a long way.

[She sighed, shaking her head.]

Sorry, I hate snakes. Really really hate them. You don't really want to know why. Figured it'd be good to be clear.

You know, it's going to take me awhile to get used to you calling me that.

[She liked it, honestly. It made her feel warm and needed. But it was still a sensation very much foreign to Asuka.]

I wasn't plan on having any pets anyway, let alone a snake. I have enough on my hands taking care of myself.

I could call you lover if you wanted.

[She gave her a truly naughty grin as they turned the last corner. Yeah, she was trying to make her blush there, and she figured that'd be a good method to try.]

But thanks for understanding. I think we'll be fine.

No that's ok, girlfriend is good.

[Was she walking into these things on purpose at this point? Did she enjoy the teasing? Maybe, but that didn't stop her from burning up like a neutron star.]

[Sometimes Samantha wondered. She winked at her, unlocking the front door after a short process and slipping in. Once they were both inside, she went about making sure it was secure. Even if she didn't use all the locks, she always used one of the deadbolts that didn't have a lock on the other side.]

Well, alright girlfriend. [Sam leaned in, grinning away.] We should get you set up then, shouldn't we?

I couldn't put it any better. It' s been a long long day and I just want to lay down for awhile and go to sleep.

[More emotionally draining then anything, a regular meetup had led to her blurting out her true feelings about very important matters and then agreeing to move into another girl's apartment. It would be a bit overwhelming for even the strongest of souls.]

Or we could cuddle, if you want. [Asuka shrank a bit as she recalled her earlier request. The one she had made before the whole "moving" thing came up.]

[samantha_grey]

There's no reason that we can't cuddle while you're going to sleep, Asuka. You know that, don't you? [She leaned in, an arm reaching for her girlfriend's waist and starting to guide her towards the bedroom.] I like lying there next to you [Even if god it made her feel like her stomach was growling, after a fashion.]

Geez, of course I did! I'm not stupid.

[Just really bad at reading people. Asuka leaned closer to Samantha and let herself be led to the bedroom. It was always felt nice when someone else could take the lead for once, and take the weight of the world from her shoulders, if just for a moment.]

Me to. It feels...safe? I guess? [Even if it really wasn't completely safe. It sure felt that way to be so close to another person.]

[samantha_grey]

There's only a couple things that you're in danger of when you're next to me. [She closed the door behind them and wrapped her arms around Asuka from behind, starting to sort of waddle towards the bed as she breathed in her ear.]

Personally, I'd hope those wouldn't be so terrible.

I really need more blushing icons for when these two are together.

[Asuka was pretty sure she knew what those things were. Pretty damn sure in fact, and honestly, she didn't mind it. Not as much as she used to anyway.

Asuka followed Samanatha's stride and would head towards the bed as quickly as she could. Laying down was her top priority at the moment, with cuddling being a close second.]

I'm ok with that... [Asuka yawned.] Just go easy on me tonight, I'm really tired.

It's a natural state for them

Don't worry. [She nipped her ear.] I'm not hungry tonight, Asuka. We'll just cuddle, and we're still going to take this at your pace.

[A light tingle went through Asuka's body, causing her to shiver a bit at the touch. To tired and frazzled to really speak, at the first given chance she would lay down then speak.]

I know, you've been really good to me ever since we first met. I'm not [Asuka's voice was tired but content as she rolled on her side, inviting the other girl to join her.] Just get over here so we can get started.
