Re: [Video]
16/2/14 00:53 (UTC)[That was just how things worked where Asuka was from, as long as you survived the day, you could chalk anything up as a success.]
There's not a lot to drink back home, so not really. But I wouldn't mind it.
[Asuka smirked a little, she liked being treated like an adult. Even if it just meant being invited to drink herself silly for the night.]
16/2/14 01:03 (UTC)[The smirk was returned and she thought to herself on where.]
Sky's Prize's loud as hell. I know a cheap dive. Not the prettiest, but you can hear yourself think, and the cheese fries aren't terrible. Want directions?
Re: [Video]
17/2/14 03:46 (UTC)[She wasn't going to turn down free drinks, after all she didn't know many people here and it maybe a way to make a few friends.]
Sure, just tell me where it is and I'll meet you there.
[Video] -> [Action]
17/2/14 03:53 (UTC)I'll meet you over there in about an hour maybe. Got a couple things to finish up.
[At the appointed time, she was easy to find. The place she'd picked was a dive in Loki district, not far between where she lived and her shop. It definitely was the cheaper sort. She was leaned up against the wall, finishing up one of those black clove cigarettes of hers.]
Re: [Video] -> [Action]
17/2/14 07:52 (UTC)[Asuka arrived at the bar dressed in the same jacket and hat she had been wearing when she first arrived, and completed the outfit with a far more normal set of clothing then that others may have seen her in a few days before.
Upon spying Samantha from a short while away, Asuka waves before approaching.]
Yo.
[Action]
17/2/14 09:16 (UTC)Heh, when I saw the jacket, I almost half expected to see you in that skin-tight outfit again.
[She dropped her cigarette down and tamped it out before opening the door and heading into the bar ahead of Asuka. The place was definitely old, cramped and smelled of smoke and lost hopes pissed away into beer, though it still had a bit of a rustic feel to it and the staff didn't look half as hopeless as some of the patrons. She was making her way straight for one of the booths.]
How you settling into the madhouse?
Re: [Action]
17/2/14 18:32 (UTC)[Asuka followed behind Samantha, looking around the bar's environs as she did. It was a strange sight for a girl who had never really experienced anything in the way of a normal youth, thus rendering her a charmed by even things like this.]
I'm trying...but between the my powers backfiring and trying to get used to things like all this cold, it's been rough.
[Action]
17/2/14 19:16 (UTC)[She nodded and grabbed a spot with a view of the whole room, wedging herself into the corner and looking across the table at Asuka. One hand rested on the wood and she sighed.]
There's no such thing as a 'good time' to show up here anymore. The war's ramping up, which makes everything more serious. The learning curve's getting steep.
Re: [Action]
17/2/14 20:31 (UTC)[Asuka laughs lightly, she was beginning to loosen up a little bit.]
It figures I'd be drafted into another war. [She sighs.] Sometimes it even feels like that is all I was born to do.
Re: [Action]
17/2/14 20:39 (UTC)[The next comment just got a laugh out of her, followed by a sad shake of her head.] And you and me both. You came from a war? Me, I came from playing vigilante for who knows how long against costumed freaks. Really doesn't feel that different here.
Re: [Action]
17/2/14 21:18 (UTC)As for me, I've been a pilot since I was fourteen. First the fight was against these huge alien monsters we called "Angels" but one day some idiot managed to pretty much cause the end of the world, so now me and a bunch of other people are fighting some other idiots who are pretty keen on repeating that same event all over again.
Re: [Action]
17/2/14 21:35 (UTC)Wait... aliens named ... [She rubbed her head.] Do you know a guy named Kaworu and a kid named Shinji?
Re: [Action]
17/2/14 21:44 (UTC)[Asuka wasn't sure how to react, she was used to people being so direct with her, aside from Mari, of course.]
Small world, Shinji is a pilot just like I am. As for Kaworu, I've only met him recently.
[Action]
17/2/14 21:52 (UTC)[The glass came down in front of her and she sipped.]
I've talked a lot with Kaworu. I have an... idea about what you're talking about. It was pretty fucked up, honestly. Makes my crap look pretty normal. Take the vacation saving your world and save this one. I think it might actually be better here.
Re: [Action]
17/2/14 23:23 (UTC)[She takes a long drink before managing to sweep away all the talk of war and other unpleasant things.]
But hey, let's forget about all that stuff and just have fun for awhile.
[Action]
17/2/14 23:26 (UTC)Re: [Action]
18/2/14 06:06 (UTC)[She takes another drink]
There really isn't a lot to do when I'm not out on a mission. I tend to just sit around, play cards on occasion, and sometimes I hang out with another pilot in my group named Mari. She's sort of a weirdo, and even calls me Princess constantly, though. So I avoid hanging around her to often.
[Action]
18/2/14 07:33 (UTC)[She laughed sadly.]
God, you must have been getting kind of lonely. No wonder Shinji always seems like a bit of a closet case, if you really don't have that many people to hang out with. Well, alright then. I guess I must have a habit of attracting people who don't get out enough.
You need to go to Folkvang one of these days.
Re: [Action]
18/2/14 23:54 (UTC)[Much like Asuka herself, but she wasn't going to ever admit that.]
In my case it's less I need to get out and more that most of the human race is dead and buried where I'm from. There's just not a lot of people left to talk to.
[Action]
19/2/14 00:01 (UTC)[She shook her head and took a sip from her drink as the two of them were plopped down in front of the girls.]
Honestly, I sometimes wonder if my world's going to end up going the same way. There's people there who seem hell bent on wrecking the joint over and over again. It gets old kicking asses and protecting people from themselves.
Re: [Action]
19/2/14 00:26 (UTC)I know the feeling. [She sighs]. I don't understand the mentality of people who want to destroy everything. They must be mentally defective or something.
[Action]
19/2/14 00:40 (UTC)So, how's the pay in saving the world in your place? Shitty as mine?
